Mauricetown, NJ

Overview

U.S. Silica's Mauricetown plant mines mineral deposits from nearby Port Elizabeth in Maurice River Township. These silica sand deposits are 99% pure silica, with a consistent grain shape that is distributed across a range of sizes. These characteristics, in combination with U.S. Silica's processing equipment, make the products produced in Mauricetown perfect for foundry, industrial, recreational and filtration grade sands and gravels.

History

Since acquiring the Mauricetown facility in 1999, we have renovated and upgraded its production capabilities, including the construction of a new wet processing plant, to enable it to produce multiple products through various processing methods, including washing, hydraulic sizing, fluid bed drying, rotary drying and scalping. These production techniques allow the Mauricetown facility to meet a wide variety of focused specifications on product composition from customers.

Community

Many of the Mauricetown employees volunteer their free time to fire and rescue, scouting, local road cleanup teams, not-for-profits, local governance, and safety programs for school-age children. The Mauricetown facility is also dedicated to identifying new sources of renewable energy to reduce the impact it has on the environment and wildlife surrounding our properties.
