Alan Schultz

Alan leads  mergers and acquisitions and strategy at the corporate level as well as across U.S. Silica’s many organizations. His responsibilities include strategic direction setting, mergers and acquisitions target Identification, screening, deal negotiations and integration. Among his accomplishments are diversifying U.S. Silica's profit sources through guiding the acquisition of SandBox in 2016, adding last-mile supply chain capabilities to U.S. Silica’s offerings and E.P. Minerals in 2018, and adding new diatomaceous earth and clay minerals to U.S. Silica's product portfolio.

Throughout his career, Alan has worked to develop strategies grounded in customer insights. He has led large surveys of customers to determine what they value, and shaped specific promotions and marketing plans to drive additional revenue.

Prior to joining U.S. Silica, Alan worked as a strategy consultant at Bain and Company where he led teams to create growth strategies, conduct diligence and improve operations. He also served as VP of Enterprise Growth and Portfolio Strategy at TDS, a telecommunications company, where he led efforts to expand Into new business segments.

Alan earned a BS in industrial Engineering and Management Sciences from Northwestern University and an MBA from Harvard University.
