Overview

EP Minerals’ headquarters is in Reno, Nevada, the "Biggest Little City in the World." U.S. Silica acquired EP Minerals in 2018, to build on our innovation, R&D efforts and new product pipeline.

In 1843, brothers Edgar and Stephen J. Conkling began manufacturing paint pigments under the brand name Eagle. In 1916, Judge Oliver Picher merged his lead mining company with the Eagle Paint Company to form Eagle-Picher Lead. This forerunner of the current EP Minerals company began the steady process of transforming the company into an industry leader by offering the most advanced products and technology of the time. In 1945, EP Minerals acquired its first diatomaceous earth (DE) deposits outside Reno, in what's known today as our Clark plant. The Reno office was established in 1959.

Community

Through EP Minerals’ giving program, the EP Way, the company donates money and employees volunteer their time to support programs to benefit families in need, and those with children. The Food Bank of Northern Nevada and the Boys & Girls Club in Northern Nevada are the two main organizations the company supports.

EP Minerals also supports the Northern Nevada Humane Society with monthly kitty litter donations.
